Normally the National Minimum Wage increases in April each year, but this year there is an increase effective from 01 October 2016, so take care. This is as a result of the Government accepting the recommendations of the Low Pay Commission.

The rates applicable from 01 October 2016 are:

  • 25 years & over – £7.20 (no change)
  • 21 – 24 years – £6.95 (up from £6.70)
